What used to be one of Reykjavík’s most popular night clubs is scheduled to reopen on 11 December, reports Fréttablaðið newspaper.
Vegamót, located on Vegamótastígur 4, had been a favourite among the Reykjavík party-crowd for over a decade when, two years ago, its owners decided to shorten opening hours and focus solely on serving food. According to Fréttablaðið, Vegamót will return to its old self on 11 of December.
“The idea was always to give the club a little rest and reopen later. We felt now is the time to do so,” says Óli Már Ólason, one of Vegamót’s owners. “We heard from customers that there was something lacking from the Reykjavík club scene after we closed, and understandably so, we were one of the most popular clubs in town for 15 years,” he concludes.
