Three old, Icelandic manuscripts are to be featured in the Reykjavík 871 +/-2 The Settlement Exhibition in Aðalstræti, down-town Reykjavík, as part of the annual Winter Lights Festival taking place in Reykjavík in February.
The manuscripts have not been available to the public since they were removed from the Culture House exhibition in October 2013.
According to the National Broadcasting Service, RÚV, the old documents are set to be part of the exhibition for the next two years.
Reykjavík 871 +/-2 The Settlement Exhibition focuses on archaeological excavations made in down-town Reykjavík in 2001-2003. Archaeologist unearthed the site of a 10th-century longhouse, and a wall fragment, dating back to circa 871, making it the oldest man-made structure found in Reykjavík. The exhibition combines Viking-Age artefacts with interactive multimedia technology.
