Director Steven Spielberg didn‘t bother to audition actor Ólafur Darri Ólafsson for his role in the upcoming adaption of the Roald Dahl children‘s classic The BFG before offering him the part.
“I met Nina Gold the casting director last year, and then out of the blue there was this interest by Steven and her to get me to do the movie,” Ólafur Darri told Digital Spy. Adding, There was no audition or anything he just makes up his mind and you've got the part. That was really trusting and I hope I can live up to that.

The film comes to theatres in the US on 1 July and stars Mark Rylance as the BFG. Ólafur Darri’s role is still a secret, he says. To be honest I don't think I can tell you anything and I don't think it's been released anywhere what character I play.”
