No Reykjavík summit between Trump and Putin, Reuters reports 5853

The UK newspaper The Times reports today that the US president elect Donald Trump wants to meet with the Russian president Vladimir Putin in Reykjavík. The news came as a surprise to Icelanders.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal Donald Trump had said the Russian government was interested in a meeting between Trump and Putin, and that he was interested in attending such a meeting. The Times then reported this morning that Trump's team has told British officials that Trump would like his first meeting with a foreign leader to be a summit between himself and Vladimir Putin. The summit would take place on neutral ground. According to the sources of the Times Reykjavík is at the top of the list of places where Trump would like to have such a meeting. 

Now, however, Reuters reports that sources close to Donald Trump deny these plans.
