Want to get a sneak peek at those destinations you are planning to visit? Or check out what you missed on your trip around Iceland? A local photographer and cartographer, Snorri Þór Tryggvason, has you covered! Snorri recently opened a new website to showcase his 360° aerial photographs taken at popular tourist destinations around Iceland.

Currently the website Iceland 360° VR has high resolution photographs of 28 destinations around Iceland, including a couple of spots in Reykjavík, but also such popular tourist destinations like Reynisfjara black sand beach, Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, Seljalandsfoss waterfall along the south coast, Ásbyrgi, Mývatn lake and Goðafoss waterfall in North Iceland and Kirkjufell mountain in West Iceland.

Snorri promises that he will be adding more photos in the coming weeks. But capturing the perfect 360° aerial photo takes a lot of patience and practice: Snorri often spends days waiting for the right conditions at his chosen sites before capturing his photos.

Each photo comes with a map, showing you the sight, and a short description, making Snorri's site the perfect travel planning companion!
