New luxury hotel will fit in seamlessly with its surroundings 2416

Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon is a 104-room luxury hotel due to open in 2016. Located in Hnappavellir, near the Skaftafell National Park and Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, the hotel will feature conference facilities, a bar and a 150 seat restaurant, from where guests can fully enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Needless to say, the rooms also feature all the best amenities and comfort.

The hotel building is reminiscent of the old, Icelandic turf houses; the outside is panelled with weathered wood and the roof is made from turf, making it fit seamlessly in with its location.

The Hnappavellir cliffs are one of Iceland‘s best rock climbing sites. The vertical cliffs used to be the coastline but now tower over lush meadows and fields. The area offers a plethora of interesting hiking trails and breath-taking sites, making it an essential spot to visit when in Iceland.
