The gender pay gap has widened further, according new figures published by the Association of Academics (BHM). The gender pay gap among BHM’s members is now at 11.7 %, compared to 9.4 % in 2014.
BHM conducted a survey among its members in May and April. 4,800 of the union’s 12,000 members answered the survey.
Morgunblaðið newspaper reports that the gender pay gap increased in certain sectors, such as among BHM members who work for the government and other municipalities than Reykjavík. The pay gap, however, reduced in the private sector.
