Akureyri’s Annual Automobile Festival was held last weekend with lots of cars and the engines roaring for days. Last Friday night, an attempt to beat the 69-car burnout record, as reported by mbl.is. 65-cars showed up and thus were five cars short of a new world record.
The massive burnout wasn’t a failure though, as members of Akureyri Automobile Club are convinced they’ve set a national record and perhaps even a European record for a joint-burnout. A plan to break the world record is now scheduled for the Automobile Festival next year.
