Musician Ólafur Arnalds has been nominated for an award at this year’s BAFTA Television Craft Awards. The nominations were announced Monday.
Ólafur is nominated in the category Best Original Music for his work on the soundtrack of ITV’s hugely popular Broadchurch. The show has a total of five nominations this year.
The award ceremony takes place in London on April 27. In an interview with Fréttablaðið newspaper, Ólafur says he will most likely be in attendance.
“I don’t think I have a choice. It’s like the Oscars, if you are nominated for a BAFTA you go.”
This was Ólafur’s first time composing music for television and he describes the experience as a good one.
“It was a fun project and I had complete artistic freedom while composing. Everything about the production was very relaxed and I think that’s the key to the show’s success.”
