Singer and songwriter Ásgeir Trausti came in at number 10 in Australia’s annual music poll Triple J's Hottest 100 with his song King and Cross. The 23 year old musician is from a small village in Northwest Iceland. An English language version of his debut album Dýrð í dauðaþögn, called In the Silence, was released last year and swifly entered charts around the world.
The Triple J’s Hottest 100 is conducted by Australian radio station, Triple J. People from around the world can vote in the poll for their favourite song of the year.
According to the Sidney Morning Herald a record 2,099,707 million votes were cast by 258,762 voters in 188 countries. This year’s winner was Australian artist Chet Faker.
