The Icelandic Met Office has issued a weather warning for Northwest Iceland, with much snowfall and poor travel conditions and limited visibility. The weather is expected to begin to deteriorate at around noon but clearing later in the evening.
Motorists are advised to show great caution if driving in the area today.

Saturday, December 20: Southeast winds reaching up to 23 metres per second (51 mph) in northern regions during the morning with snow and later sleet or rain. Becoming lighter in the north and east in the afternoon. Maximum temperature around 6 degrees Celsius (43 Fahrenheit).
Sunday, December 21: Snow in the northeast and east. Temperatures between 0 to 7 degrees Celsius (0 to 45 Fahrenheit).
