MP Willum Þór Þórsson, a member of the Progressive Party, proposed today that gambling be legalized in Iceland, reports the National Broadcasting Service. Today is the final day MP‘s can introduce new bills into the legislature.
The law is intended to strengthen the police’s legal status when handling illegal gambling. Willum maintains the law will also form a better basis for discussion regarding problems linked with compulsive gambling.
