A runner who got separated from his companions on Helgafell mountain, southeast of Reykjavík city, was found by members of ICE-SAR around midnight last night. Around a hundred members of ICE-SAR participated in the search for the man.
According to the National Broadcasting Service RÚV, the man got lost around 9 p.m. His companions called for help around 10 p.m. The ICE-SAR members assisted by search dogs, searched for him on foot, quad bikes and bicycles
Weather conditions were poor last night, rainy and windy. RÚV reports the runner was cold when found by ICE-SAR.
