The unemployment rate in Iceland stands at 2.6 percent, the Ministry of Welfare reported yesterday. The unemployment rate among Icelandic women is 3.2 percent, slightly higher than the 2.0 percent among men.
4,800 people were registered jobless in July. The number of people registered unemployed is 0.9 percent higher in the Greater Reykjavík area than in the rest of the country, standing at 2.9 percent. The unemployment rate outside the capital has fallen by 0.1 percent since June 2015.
