As the country continues to be battered by extreme weather, meteorologists warn there is more to come. The Icelandic Met Office has issued fresh storm warnings for Thursday and Saturday.

“More low pressure areas will form and track across the country,” meteorologist Þorsteinn V. Jónsson, told Vísir. “It will stay windy the next days, with more heavy rain and hail.”
Severe storms swept across the country on Saturday, causing damage to property and travel disruption. Around 300 members of local Search and Rescue teams worked all through Saturday to assist people in need. A number of roads and homes in the Reykjavík suburb of Mosfellsbær were badly flooded during Saturday’s storm and heavy rainfall.
