The Icelandic Met Office warns of heavy wind all over the country today, Monday, with southwesterly winds reaching 23 metres per second (51 mph). Travel conditions will be bad due to wind and possible flooding due to heavy rain and thawing of ice and snow.
Holtavörðuheiði road, West Iceland, has been re-opened after having been closed because of flooding. The Djúpvegur road number 61 in northwest Iceland broke apart due heavy flooding and is currently closed to traffic.
