The Icelandic Met Office has issued a strong gale warning for southern regions today and in the north this evening, followed by some outbreaks of snow in the south.
Southerly winds, reaching 23 metres per second (51 mph), in the south and southwest today but will decrease in the evening. Outbreaks of snow or sleet expected in the south but mostly dry in northern regions. Temperatures will fall during the next days and are widely around freezing point (32 Fahrenheit).
Travel conditions in South and West Iceland are poor today due to wind and slick roads.
