According to a statement from Costco the store will have a selection similar to Costco stores in the US, although in one regard it will be more limited: Unless the law is changed, Costco Iceland will not carry any alcoholic drinks.

Costco has been planning to open a store in Iceland for several years. The first plans envisioned the store opening in 2015, but difficulty in finding an appropriate site for the store and other difficulties caused the plans to being postponed several times. The local news site Vísir now reports that Costco has pushed the opening of its warehouse store to May. Earlier it had been announced the store would open in March.
The store will be located by Kauptún street in the suburban municipality Garðabær, just off the road between Reykjavík and Keflavík Airport. The only IKEA store in Iceland is also located by Kauptún. A large Bónus store is also located on Kauptún.
