The ‘buddies’ are members of the Icelandair staff who welcome guests to join them for various fun-filled activities during a stopover in Iceland. The carrier has offered trans-Atlantic passengers the chance to make a stopover in Iceland for up to 7 nights at no additional airfare.
According to Icelandair’s website, the buddies are divided into a number of different categories, including lifestyle, nature, health, culture, food, and adventure. Visitors that are interested in spending time with a local have only to pick their preferred category and a date and Icelandair will let them know if a buddy is available within 72 hours.
