Rescue units in east Iceland received an emergency call yesterday evening regarding three nine year old girls who had gone missing. The girls were found around midnight, safe and sound.
According to the National Broadcasting Service the girls had left their homes in Egilsstaðir yesterday and when they did not return for dinner, their parents reported them missing.
The young girls had packed a lunch and some blankets and walked sixteen kilometres (10 miles) to visit a relative of one of the girls. They arrived at the relatives house around midnight, tired but safe and sound.
