Reykjavík City intends to erect information signs around Öskjuhlíð, a forested hill in the centre of Reykjavík, this summer. The signs will contain information about war remnants in the area.

The British Army occupation force built various bunkers, machine gun nests, and, of course, the domestic airport in Öskjuhlíð during World War II.
The idea came from the initiative ‘Betri borg’ (Better City), where locals submit suggestions on how to improve their neighbourhood. The suggestions are then put to a popular vote.
