The creator, Magnus Scheving, who has played the role of Sportacus from the very beginning, finished filming his last season as the athletic SuperHero last summer. After Turner Broadcasting bought the rights to the show in 2011 it was confirmed that Magnús would only be doing two more seasons as Sportacus.
LazyTown sent out a Press Release today announcing that Magnús would not be renewing his contract as CEO of the brand, and as reported by ruv.is, the studio would be moved to the UK later this year. According to the press release, Turner Broadcasting intends to bring LazyTown to the stage and increase its visibility on the Internet.
Since Turner took over LazyTown, two seasons (Season 3 and 4) have been filmed at the LazyTown studios in Iceland. The latter will premier this fall, but Season 3 premiered in the UK and USA last spring (2013) and systematically made its way to TV-stations around the world throughout the year.
