Large landslide fell in Dyrhólaey, South Iceland 201

A large landslide fell near Dyrhólaey, a small peninsula in South Iceland, yesterday. A large chunk of the walking trail in Dyrahólaey disappeared with the landslide, reports Morgunblaðið.

“I was there with a group of tourists. We were following the walking trail when we noticed a large rift in it,” guide Aron Reynisson told Morgunblaðið.

The Icelandic Civil Defence Department warns hikers to stay far from Dyrhólaey’s edges as more landslides are expected to occur in the next days.
