Labour force participation in Iceland is above the OECD average 415

New statistics from OECD (The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) for unemployment rates show that among the OECD countries, labour force participation is highest in Iceland.

The statistics for the fourth quarter of 2013 show the average OECD participation rate was 65.3 percent, while it was 81.7 percent in Iceland.

What more, Iceland has the highest workforce participation rate of women among the OECD countries, the rate being 79.6 percent, and the second highest among men, being 83.7 percent.

Unemployment rates in OECD countries have remained persistently high after the economic crisis, with the OECD wide unemployment rate standing at 8 percent as of April 2013.
