Icelander Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir has been crowned the World's Fittest Woman for the second consecutive year. Katrín clinched the title last night after a 5-day gruelling competition that included 15 events at the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games in California. Sara Sigmundsdóttir, also from Iceland, finished third and Australian Tia-Clair Toomey took second place. Same three finished the competition in exact same places last year.
Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir is the second woman to win the title twice, the other being Annie Mist Þórisdóttir, also from Iceland, who took the title in 2011 and 2012.
Annie Mist finished number 13 in this year's competition and the fourth competitor from Iceland, Þuríður Erla Helgadóttir, clocked in at 19 of the 40 women competing in the finals, whittled down from hundreds of thousands of athletes.
Katrín Tanja recorded two first-place event finishes and was six times in the top six during the 15 events. She takes home 275,000 USD price for the first place.
On the men’s side, Icelander Björgvin Karl Guðmundsson, who took home the bronze in 2015, finished number eight this year.
