Job growth strengthens, unemployment rate goes down 933

Acording to a new Icelandic Labour Force Survey, published by Statistics Iceland, unemployment in June was 4.6%, dropping from 6.4% in June 2013.

Of those in the labour force in Iceland, 186,300 persons were employed and 9,000 persons were unemployed. The activity rate was 85.3% and the employment rate was 81.4%. Comparison between June 2013 and 2014 shows an increase by one percentage point in the activity rate and by 2.5 points in the employment rate.
