A 65-year-old hiker from Israel is dead after falling during a hike at Svínafellsjökull glacier, South Iceland yesterday, reports Morgunblaðið.
According to information from the South Iceland Police Department, the man was hiking with a group of people on the glacier’s west side when he fell. The man’s travel companions received crisis counselling following the accident, which occurred at around 2 pm.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
