Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice recently released a new album, My Favourite Faded Fantasy, after an eight-year hiatus from the music scene. The album was recorded between Iceland and Los Angeles and produced by Rick Rubin.

Damien sat down with The Line of Best Fit to discuss life, creativity and his time in Iceland.

“The first time I landed in Iceland, I got off the plane and Kári (a friend) met me and brought me ten minutes away. Within a few minutes I had my clothes off and I was in this outdoor hot-tub. It was snowing at night time and with volcanic rocks everywhere and I was just like: “Where the hell have I come?” Damien explains in the video interview. Adding that he feels very inspired after his stay in Iceland and can’t wait to get back into the studio.
