Intense Holuhraun volcanic pollution in town Höfn, South Iceland 2300

Inhibitants of town Höfn in Hornafjörður fjord in South Iceland have been hit with rather intsense Holuhraun volcanic pollution today, as can be seen in the image above, via the Icelandic Met Office (IMO). Thankfully for Höfn the pollution is moving to the west and will drift over a narrow area from Skaftafell National Park to town Vík on the south coast tomorrow and Friday.

The pollution level is not expected to be high in populated areas over those two days, according to IMO's interactive map.
