The Circum-Arctic Show is an exhibition that showcases the work of indigenous artists from across the Arctic Circle and opens in Gamla Bíó in Reykjavík on the 15th of October.
The show features artist exhibits and workshops, indigenous performers, and movie screenings by more than 30 native artists from Canada, USA (Alaska), Russia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Greenland.
The show provides the artists with a platform that allows them to “articulate many of the struggles they have faced, as well as offer insights into how remote communities have evolved in the twenty-first century”. It also addresses the effects of global warming and globalization on Arctic communities.
