According to the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration (IRCA) traffic on Hringvegurinn, or the Ring Road, in the month of June has never been as much as was recorded this year.
This June was 4.6% larger than June 2014. This is the third consecutive June that traffic has increased on the Ring Road, also known as Route 1.
The Ring Road, has never seen as much traffic as in 2014, with a 6 percent increase from the previous year.
According to IRCA Fridays are the most popular travel days in Iceland while Mondays see the least traffic.
