Iceland's PM criticized for not attending solidarity march in Paris yesterday 1064

Iceland‘s Prime Minister, Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, was not among the world leaders who showed solidarity with the victims of the Charlie Hebdo attack by attending yesterday‘s march in Paris.

Sigmundur Davíð‘s absence was criticized by the general public who voiced their discontent on social media, reports Vísir.is.

In a statement from the ministry, the Minister’s nonattendance was attributed to a number of reasons, including short notice and a busy schedule.  

More than three million people took to the streets all over France on Sunday, while 1.6 million people are estimated to have taken part in the march in Paris.
