In his article, Thornton wonders whether the secret to a long life could be a mixture of a healthy diet of fresh fish, dairy and lamb, hard labour, and positive thinking – something that has characterised all of Georg’s long life.

“The people around me always had a positive outlook on life and I adapted that same attitude,” Georg said. And he has managed to maintain that mentality despite his losses. “Of course it’s sad that my wife, friends and family have long passed. But such is life and my motto is to accept all that life offers.”
