Iceland’s largest ice caps are expected to expand this year due to a particularly cold and snowy winter, followed by a rather cool summer, reports Morgunblaðið newspaper.
“The melt rate has slowed down in the past years. This has been evident in glacier rivers during spring thaw,” glaciologist Finnur Pálsson told Morgunblaðið.
