Iceland's coalition government has the support of 37% of the nation according to a new poll 2232

The coalition government of the Progressive Party (Framsóknarflokkurinn) and the Independence Party (Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn) has the support of 37% of the nation according to a new poll by Capacent.

The parties were voted into power with 51% of the popular vote in the spring of 2013. Combined support for each party is bigger than for the coalition.

The poll shows that the Progressive Party, Prime Minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson's party has a 13% support. In the 2013 elections the party got 24% of the votes.

The Independence Party (Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn) is supported by 27%, which is the same number as in the elections.

The second best supported party in the country, according to the poll, is the Social Democratic Alliance (Samfylkingin) with 18% share of the support (13% in the elections).

The Pirate Party has a 13% support (5% in the elections) and has never been measured larger in a poll by Capacent. The Left Greens (Vinstrihreyfingin grænt framboð) has 11% or the same number as in the 2013 elections and Bright Future (Björt Framtíð) has 13 % (8.2% in the elections)

No party, that does not have members at Alþingi, Iceland's parliament, receives above 1% support in the poll.
