Musician Ólafur Arnalds won an award at this year’s BAFTA Television Craft Awards which took place in London yesterday evening.
Ólafur was nominated in the category Best Original Music for his work on the soundtrack of ITV’s hugely popular „Broadchurch“. The show had a total of five nominations this year.
In an interview with Fréttablaðið newspaper yesterday, Ólafur says he is still in a state of shock.
“This came as a complete surprise, I never thought I’d win. I’ve been in a state of shock for the past hour,” he said.
This was Ólafur’s first time composing music for television and he describes the experience as a good one.
“It was a fun project and I had complete artistic freedom while composing. Everything about the production was very relaxed and I think that’s the key to the show’s success.”
