Icelandic GDP per capita 10th highest in Europe in 2015: 23% above the EU average 1932

According to preliminary figures for 2015 the per capita GDP in Iceland was the tenth highest for the 37 European countries. The per capita volume of GDP, based on Purchasing Power Parity, was 23% above the EU average, 1% below that of Sweden and Germany.

Statistics Iceland and Eurostat have released the final figures for Icelandic per capita volume of GDP for 2013. That year GDP volume per capita in Iceland was 17% above the average of the 28 EU countries. Iceland had the 11th highest GDP per capita of the 37 participating European countries, the 28 EU countries, plus Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania and Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia.

Preliminary estimates for 2015 indicate that the GDP per capita in Iceland was 23% above the EU average and that GDP in Iceland was the 10th highest in Europe. Iceland was only a few percentage points behind Netherlands and Austria (128% of EU average), Denmark (127%), Sweden and Germany (124%).
