Rebecca Kaad Ostenfeld, the farmer who received an unusual letter in late March from a tourist who had stayed at her farm in west Iceland, has instantly become world-famous. Yesterday, she received countless of phone-calls from journalists world-wide who wanted to interview her about the letter.
Rebecca and her family received guests at their farm Hólar in Hvammssveit in west Iceland in March. When back in Reykjavík, the visitors wanted to thank the couple for their hospitality by sending them a card but didn’t have the address. Instead they drew a map of the farm and its surroundings on the envelope.
“It’s been amazing and great fun. I hope to receive more letters. This just comes to show how beautiful the world can be,” she tells the National Broadcasting Service.
According to RÚV, the photo of the envelope has been viewed over 5 million times!
