Churches across Iceland are tolling their bells at 17 (5pm) every day for a week in solidarity with victims of the bombardment of the Syrian city Aleppo.
The initiative began in Finland on 12 October at a church in Kallio, central Helsinki, and has since spread to the other Nordic countries and around the world, reaching churches as far away as in Australia, New Zealand and U.S.A
