An Icelandic startup, DoHop, which has developed a pretty cool price comparison and flight booking site, was recently recognized at the World Travel Awards. The site was chosen as The World's Leading Flight Comparison Website for 2016. The World Travel Awards are a respected award in the travel industry, described as the industry's Oscars.
This is the second time the company receives the award, as the company was similarly recognized as the world's best in its category in 2014. The award shows that the Reykjavík based company, which was founded in 2004, is among the world's leading flight booking sites. Other companies which were nominated for the prize were Cheapflights.com, Kayak.com, Momondo.com and Skyscanner.net. DoHop was also nominated as the World's Leading Travel Technology Provider 2016, but did not win that award.

To celebrate the award the site is encouraging visitors to sign up to its Christmas Calendar Giveaway: The top price is an all-expenses paid trip for two to Iceland, with other smaller prices offered each day.
