Axel Valur, who graduated with a degree in fine arts from the Icelandic Academy of Arts in 2011, says the whole thing began as a joke between him and a friend.

“A close friend and I decided to stage a ‘battle of the sexes’ of sorts for Sirkús Íslands (Iceland’s only circus). She painted with her breasts and I painted with my penis. She won because her painting sold for more money than mine.”
Axel charges 40 thousand ISK (269 Euros/305 US Dollars) for a portrait. “I’m quite popular,” he proudly tells.
Axel is not the only artist who paints with his penis; Tim Patch, commonly known by his professional stage name Pricasso, is an Australian artist who is known for using his penis, scrotum and buttocks to paint portraits and landscapes.
