Icelandair flight schedules will return to normal today after the Icelandic Parliament banned the pilots union´s strike actions.
A lively debate took place in the Icelandic Parliament yesterday, as the additional pilot strikes could have cost Iceland billions ISK in tourist dollars. The legislation passed 32:14, as a last resort to resolve the pilot´s concerns.
The Union of Icelandic Pilots and Icelandair have until June 1 to reach an agreement on the matter. A compulsory arbitration will be imposed on the parties if they do not reach an agreement.
