Icelandair Pilots and the State Mediator for Icelandair Group have yet to reach an agreement over a wage-dispute that has caused the airline to have to cancel multiple flights this month. A bill was passed in Parliament last week preventing Icelandair pilots from striking, but neither pilots nor flight attendants are working over-time while the struggle is ongoing.
A spokesperson for the Iceland Pilots’ Union (FÍA) told mbl.is that he hopes an agreement will be reached at tomorrow’s meeting – the first time the two parties meet after the law was passed.
The over-time ban has caused Icelandair to have to cancel multiple flights, sometimes on short notice, causing expected anger among travellers. Travellers are advised to keep a close eye on Icelandair flights in the next few days as cancellations or delays may continue.
Iceland Pilots’ Union (FÍA) will meet with Icelandair tomorrow in hopes of reaching an agreement over an on-going wage dispute.
