Iceland has experienced a massive growth in retail sales of new-vehicles this April.

With registrations rising 91 percent compared to the same month last year, the country has sold 1305 vehicles up until now, 777 of which were purchased by local rental-car companies.

“Car sales have soared in the first months of 2015 and we hope sales will continue to grow,” Özur Lárusson, director of Bíl­greina­sam­bandið, told Morgunblaðið.
