DeCode Genetics, a company that analyses and understands the human genome and is based in Reykjavík, is interested in finding out whether artistic talent is hereditary.
The company sent a questionnaire to 4500 individuals in an effort to try and determine whether the human genome influences a person’s interests and talent, i.e. artistic talent.
The target group consists of dancers, musicians, artists, actors, writers and chess players. Kári Stefánsson, the company‘s CEO, has refuced to comment on the study until the results have been analysed.
