Norðurá river in Borgarfjörður, west Iceland, burst its banks yesterday, causing a power outage in the area which lasted a few hours, reports Fréttablaðið.
It seems as though an ice floe rushing down the river hit a utility pole causing a power outage. Fields in the surrounding area were left submerged under water when the river burst its banks.
During the summer months Norðurá is a popular spot for salmon fishing.
