Holuhraun sulfur dioxide pollution in northeast Iceland today 2007

Today (Wednesday) volcanic sulfur dioxide pollution from Holuhraun is expected to the northeast of the eruption site according to the Icelandic Met Office (IMO). The pollution will drift over area from Langanes peninsula in the north to Eskifjörður fjord in the east 

Tomorrow the gas pollution is expected to the north of the eruption site.

Sulfur dioxide is considered to have reached unhealthy levels when it exceeds 600 micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m3).
