Summer continues to elude Iceland. After a week that saw a storm bring gale force winds to the South Coast and highlands, the Icelandic Meteorological Office is predicting grey skies and occasional showers over the Pentecost weekend.

Temperatures are due to be in the 3-15°C range over the weekend. On Saturday, continued easterly wind with rain is expected all over the country, though conditions should stay dry till noon in North Iceland.

The wind will be strongest on the South Coast on Pentecost Sunday with constant rain in the Southeast. Elsewhere, clouds and occasional showers are expected.

After the weekend, the wind direction is predicted to turn northerly with lowering temperatures, according to local news site Vísir.
