Greenland Express will start making direct flights from Akureyri town in North Iceland to Denmark in June. The airline will fly to Copenhagen and then on to Aalborg. Starting next week, travelers can begin booking their reservations in preparation for the summer travel season.
Sigurður Pétur Hjaltason, spokesman for Greenland Express, states in an interview with ruv.is that the airline will attempt to keep ticket prices comparable to those found from Iceland's far largest International Airport in Keflavík, which is on the Sourthwest corner of the country. The average price maybe slightly higher, but the seats will be in high demand as the aircraft has the ability to seat only 100 per flight.
