Winter is here, and so is the cast of Game of Thrones. Travellers spotted Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington, who play Daenerys Targarian and Jon Snow at Keflavík Airport on Sunday. The two key characters of the popular HBO series are said to be staying in Iceland for a few days to shoot scenes for the eight and final series of the show.

This is the fourth time members of the cast of Game of thrones come to Iceland. In season 7 Iceland played an important role as the backdrop to scenes which take place in the land beyond of the Wall. Among the sites where film crews working on Game of Thrones shot scenes were Reynisfjara black sand beach in South Iceland, and Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon in the south-east.
